Some Accredited Employer work visa (AEWV) holders are able to support temporary visas for their partner and children. Whether or not an AEWV holder is able to support their family members to obtain a visa depends on:
- The ANZSCO skill level
- The pay rate
- Whether the role is on the Green List and Green List requirements are met
- Whether the AEWV holder supported family visas on 26 June 2024
In general, AEWV holders in skill level 4 or 5 roles with no pathway to residence will be unable to support their partner or children for visas. These family members will need to apply for a visa in their own right.
For many migrants, being able to bring their family to New Zealand is a key factor in whether or not they will relocate to New Zealand. These rules are complex and require careful consideration. It essential that you seek advice from a licensed adviser or lawyer if you intend to support your family to apply for visas.
